So I started working on some of the weapons on the zombie firefight mod...
(reskins to add a more hunt-ish feel if you can't tell from the darkness)
Of course it wouldn't be a legitimate zombie mod without a ridiculous si-fi weapon, so...
Joshua1998 liked a post in a topic by AMD in 1/31 Site Modifications and Rule Changes (PLEASE READ)
Effective immediately, some changes have been made to the site rules and forum structure following user feedback.
These changes are intended to make Xbox Chaos easier for everyone to use and to promote more discussion. You will not be punished ex post facto for posts made before these changes.
Please read this carefully.
Posting in Free Discussion will now count toward your post count. The Media forum has been merged into Free Discussion. Please remember to prefix your topics appropriately. The following rule has been ADDED:
While uploading a program to the download manager requires you to submit a virus scan link, there was previously no rule regarding linking to a program in the forums. Note that you do not need to include a virus scan for links to a reputable source - e.g. Microsoft.com or the Xbox Chaos GitHub. Sites such as Mediafire or Mega are NOT considered reputable sources, and neither is attaching a program to your post. The following rule has been CHANGED:
has been changed to
This rule change will now allow you to discuss pre-release content (e.g. Halo 4 Beta) as long as the content in question has already been released to the public, officially or unoficially. "Available to the public" includes limited-access betas, such as betas which are only available if you preorder a game. Discussing content which is not reasonable for most people to gain access to (for example, a leaked beta which is only passed between people in certain circles) is still not allowed. Remember that linking directly to illegally-leaked content (e.g. a download for the Halo 4 Beta) is also still prohibited. The following rule has been CHANGED:
has been changed to
This rule change makes it clearer that discussing services for bypassing XBL authentication is also prohibited. TL;DR: Posting in Free Discussion now counts toward your post count. The Media forum has been combined with Free Discussion. You need to provide a virus scan whenever you link to a program unless the link is reputable. You can now talk about betas which have been made available to the public. You can't talk about services for bypassing XBL authentication. This was already a rule, but it was made clearer. -- The Xbox Chaos Staff
Joshua1998 liked a post in a topic by AMD in Lord Zedd, Gamecheat13, youtube tutorials?
The thing about video tutorials is that they take time to make, and many of us (myself included) are too busy with school and other commitments to have the time to spend on them. Plus we'd probably end up making videos of tutorials we've already written, and that's not exactly fun. The text-based tutorials on here are pretty complete on their own in my opinion and most users seem to be OK with following them. You just need to spend the time to make sure you understand what's going on.
I'm also not even really a huge fan of video tutorials to begin with - while I can understand that many people might like that they show the complete steps for something from start to finish, the issue that I have with them is that they don't let you work at your own pace. If you don't understand what's going on in the video, you have to pause it and re-watch a particular section until you do, and if you think the video is too slow-paced for you, then you have to skip ahead by small amounts and hope you don't miss anything important.
I'd much rather stick with the text-based tutorials that we already have, personally. Maybe someone could make simpler video tutorials explaining how to do things like basic tag editing for complete beginners, but I don't think they should be used for anything more advanced.

Here's what we are talking about. Many of us use PC as our primary gaming platform because of cost/modding capability/etc. There's a satirical circlejerk around PC gaming. Since we think it is better we call it a "Master Race" in comparison to consoles. Keep in mind, this is all jokes and not to be taken seriously. However, the fact that we believe PC is a better gaming platform is absolutely true.
Joshua1998 liked a post in a topic by Tragedy in The story of the boy who screwed himself over with pot.
There once was a boy who decided it would be a great idea to roll a joint of pot at school in the gymnasium. He and his friend when back there and puffed away, they began to feel high as fuck. The Gym teacher for our first period class began to question them, and they became very paranoid, it was obvious that they were stoned. After that he realized that he was supposed to be taking his exam, he then did the exam, but the principle wanted to see them after wards.
After the test they searched one kids bag, he had a lighter, then he checked the other kids bag, he had the weed. The principle yelled at the boy and said "You took the exams high?!?!?", the boy replied, "I think i do pretty good though", she just shook her head. The cops came in and talked about it, and gave me a court sumance, but the charges were dropped for some unknown reason.
His mother came in and told the school to send him to kinzie/boys school, but the school refused. His mom was very pissed, after his dad found out his dad did thinks that this boy does not want to talk about. He got grounded from everything, eventually his girlfriend broke up with him because the didn't see each other for awhile.
After two weeks from the incident the kid go his Xbox back and was ungrounded, this kid was very happy! Along the way the boy started looking for another girlfriend, her name was Lauren, she was a very smart, pretty, and funny girl. They both got very close, and admitted to liking one another, they were happy. But there was one problem, the boy didn't tell her what happened, after he told her she was not a happy camper.... after that she just wanted to be friends until I got my life back together, she encouraged me to go to church with her, the boy said he would, but his parents or no one will take him. Maybe eventually this boy will get his shit together, and be able to have this girl, who knows. The following events took place about a month ago.
This boy now is working on a .map mod for the community, and is learning a lot from them, and really is grateful to have such intelligent people in these forms. Who know what will become of all this.
-This is a true story, the boy is me.
Please read this and don't be as foolish as I was, stick with good people, and help some out on the way.
Cheers guys, thank you for everything.
EDIT: I do not promote or discourage the us of weed. Use at your own risk.

File Category: .MAP Mods
My first attempt at making a map since I believe Stormy Cartographer, and boy have we come a long way since then.
This is a BSP Injection of 010 from 120_halo, with bits removed and blocked off to play better. All gametypes are supported by default. Through its creation I've learned a couple new things, most notably new things regarding the Simulation Definition Table.
Overall I'm hoping this map raises the bar in some way in terms of complete packages, and I hope everyone enjoys, especially on gamenight whenever that happens.
**You may need to update your Assembly if it if from before August 1st as I updated it to allow _variant blfs in patches.
Patch chillout.map, name it roundabout.map, and say yes to the extras.
v1.1: The map itself hasn't changed, so you can grab just the updated info and BLFs here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/6p72uhyaxco9li0/roundabout_newinfoandblfs.rar

Joshua1998 liked a post in a topic by Thunder in Donator Changes
I have made some changes to how donations are handled. All donations now say they only last one day. The difference is that you will never be reverted back to member anymore. I have went back and retroactively made this change for anyone who has donated in the past. The day duration allows for someone to make more donations the next day if they choose. If you have any questions please reach to me.
PS: In order to do this, I had to expire all existing transactions. Rest assured that your donator status should be intact.
