  1. I have been out of the Halo modding scene for awhile, was there anything new in the Halo 3 MCC PC map files that was not in the retail versions? Like new models/textures? It seems that since this is for PC a lot of the info regarding this game is scattered and can't be found all in one place.
  2. Progress I guess...

Thanks man, I appreciate it. Thanks for tuning in and remember... YOU ROCK!

I kind of took a break from the Halo modding scene. I started modding Super Smash Bros. Melee for fun to see if I could apply what I have learned from 3D modeling, hex editing, and texturing.

Looks like a lot of fun, it makes me happy to see people are still creating content.

There is this problem in the Halo 3 Beta that I have encountered when replacing bitmaps in the shared.map. The textures overlap and the replaced bitmap can only be seen up close. Is there any way to fix this?

Found this old screenshot, does anyone know how to get into debug director (flycam) again?

Star Wars Galaxy at War is a non-profit fan-made Halo 3 project. As a Halo/Star Wars fan I have always dreamed of combining Halo's engine with a Star Wars Universe, this mod will deliver just that. With the help of bitmap injection and tag injection this mod will be made possible. New playable characters, vehicles, maps, textures, and weapons will be added. This will play like a Halo game but will also be able to be played in third person to create a Star Wars Battlefront style of gameplay. I will keep you posted on this thread for updates so stay tuned. Creators: Stu Pickles and Lehvak Main Menu (WIP) Characters (WIP)

Unfortunately I did not finish this but I have something else in the works.
  13. What you will need: Assembly 1.0.4817.30869 https://sourceforge.net/projects/assembly/files/ (This is only if you need to swap bitmaps) Adjutant 3.5.0.0 (This version will allow you to open Halo 3 Multiplayer Beta .maps) Hex Editor (Any Hex Editor should do) 1. Backup Shared.map Before you start you will want to make sure you backup your shared.map in case you make an error. 2. Open Adjutant 3.5.0.0 You will want to open up two .maps, the first being a Halo 3 Multiplayer Beta .map and the second being a .map of your choice. 3. Finding a Bitmap to Replace You will want to find a bitmap in your second .map of choice that will be able to replace the targeted bitmap in the Halo 3 Multiplayer Beta .map. The two bitmaps must have the same the same Format and must have the same Width and Height. 4. Extracting Bitmaps Once you have found the bitmap you would like to extract then you will go to the Raw Extractor section and click on the bitmap, you will then right-click it and click Export This Image. Then you will save the image as .bin. You will want to do this for both of the bitmaps. Also to avoid confusion naming the image files as something you can remember would be a good idea. 5. Hex Editing the Shared.map You will want open up three things in your Hex Editor: The Halo 3 Multiplayer Beta shared.map and the two bitmap .bin files. You will then want to copy some hex-values from the targeted bitmap .bin that you are going to replace. After copying those values go to your shared.map and find them by the hex-values that you just copied. Once you found where the bitmap begins you will go to the bitmap .bin that you are using to replace, select all of it's hex values and copy them. Then you will want to go back to your shared.map and click on the beginning of where the bitmap begins and write over it with your copied hex-values. Save the result and you are done. Good job you have successfully injected a bitmap into the Halo 3 beta.
  14. Yes this just happened. It is possible to inject bitmaps into the beta.
  15. I am curious as to what build of Halo 3 this is.
  16. Post your detective work in this thread, let's see what we can find. I will start first.
