mods from the usb

3 posts in this topic

I've been trying to figure out how to mod my skyrim game without making any changes to my console. In my thought process I came to think; is it possible to put all of the game files from the disc onto a usb stick and run the game off of that? And were it so, would it be possible to merely put the mods into the data folder and have it work? Only a thought, any insight from someone who knoww?

It would not work. The reason you need a modified console is because retail consoles do not allow unsigned code - like the converted Skyrim mods - to run. Having a JTAG/RGH/DevKit is required just like for all things that use unsigned code.

To clarify: nearly all game content on the Xbox is signed with a digital signature verifying that the content was not modified. If you try to modify even a single bit, it will cause your Xbox to reject the content. Modified consoles don't do this so that's why you need one.
