Character replacement in campaign cinematics

11 posts in this topic

Have you ever seen this video?

Does anyone know how to do this?

That, and also to make certain characters invisible?

It would be good to make some Machinima with armour not available in Halo Reach.

Such as Hayabusa, Rogue, all other Elite armour and/or Arby (the last not necessary as one can play Co-op to make him appear).

I do not know anything about this but is there a cinematics [cine] tag? Maybe you can modify that or something.

Recently found out it is located in [cisc].

But I believe the game will just show the default Spartan (Mark VI), unless it is changed. And I don't know how to change the armour in Assembly. Also, I don't know if changing your armour in the game menu will change it in the cinematics.

This tutorial will show you how to change armor and color of bipeds, of course.

Ok, found a way to do this but I still need further testing in gameplay (I just modded the cinematics).

Once I make sure everything is good to go, I'll make a tutorial.

Take in mind this is my way to do this and there are probably more.

ATM I'll just say you need to inject the mp_masterchief biped, then replace the original Master Chief biped in the cinematics found in [cisc] tag.

All other things you need to do are found in the [hlmt] and [mode] tags, but I won't say anything until I make sure this works while also replacing the biped of the gameplay (the one you use, not in cinematics).

I know this is a very old topic now, but I know how to change Chief's armour in campaign for both the cut-scenes and in-game. If anyone needs help with it just ask. Hell I might even make a post on how to do it.

Here's some pictures to show I've done it, I've run this through the Xenia Emulator, so the graphics looks a bit odd, but it does work on console.

That looks good.

I also worked for me and even made a level with these.

Now I'm wondering if this can be done on Reach's campaign as well, and I'm not talking about Noble 6 (which is just as easy as modifying the armor in the main menu) but other Spartans.

About 8-9 years ago I remember chatting to a school friend about  how his brother in-law could mod Halo so you could spawn in AI and everything in campaign and that you can change your armor in campaign. Who would've thought that both those mods are actually real! I guess he was telling the truth after all and his bro in law just managed to do it before it became well known :)
